Status and Song in Harmony
SoundCloud and Google+ have teamed up to allow users to embed songs directly into their Google+ updates. Let’s see how long it takes for the other social outlets to get in tune with this feature.
Twitter Amplify gets an A
After the success of Twitter Amplify during the MTV Video Music Awards, Viacom plans to develop more social video and ad campaigns for over 30 other programming events and shows. Witness the tweets during Comedy Central’s roast of James Franco next month!
An Extra Ear for Celebs
Facebook is testing out a new app just for celebrities—appropriately called the VIP app. This app would allow celebrities (or their team) to easily monitor Facebook conversations about themselves via their mobile device. Celebs can quickly respond to fans and join their conversations. The project is part of Facebook’s push to appeal to celebrities and steal some of Twitter’s celebrity thunder.
Google Rolls Out Display Planner Tool
The search giant is cleaning out its toolbox again. This time Google’s Ad Planner Tool, Placement Tool, and Contextual Tool are getting voted off the island. Display Planner Tool is said to replace all three. Wow, burn.
