Landed: NASA Partnership
Nothing gets those innovative juices flowing quite like outer space. And we just got word that'll open the flood gates.NASA has selected PRPL to help create a technology called Integrated Display and Environmental Awareness System (IDEAS), as part of their Early Career Initiative (ECI) pilot program. Together with Abacus Technology and Florida Institute of Technology of Melbourne, we'll be working on a "wearable computer with an optical heads-up display providing augmented reality data and communications, enhancing real-time operations on the ground and in space." Just tinkering away at spacesuits, NBD.
"Investing in the future leaders in space technology in partnership with the nation’s leading innovators is part of our overall portfolio strategy for mission success."Michael Gazarik, associate administrator for Space Technology, NASA
Our inner (OK, outer) nerds are rejoicing at such a stellar opportunity to have a hand in future space exploration. We'll do our best to make Neil deGrasse Tyson proud.NASA's full press release can be found here.
