Scientific Storytelling at the Field Museum

We love when people find new ways to tell a compelling story, especially when it’s over 60 million years old.

Say hi to SUE, the 40-foot-long tyrannosaurus rex that has ruled Stanley Field Hall in Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History since 2000. SUE has captured the attention of over 6.5 million visitors since her arrival, but next year she’s getting a makeover and a big move.

The Field Museum celebrates their 125th anniversary in 2018, but they are always inventing fresh, new ways to engage their audience. As their scientific developments shed light on what life was like back in dino days, their makeover of SUE will be closer to what she really looked like in her prime. Considering she has her own Twitter account, we’d say she’s a pretty modern gal.

But Stanley Field Hall will be anything but empty after SUE’s move upstairs. A new gargantuan friend will be moving in—a 122-foot-long Titanosaur cast of the massive herbivore. We can’t wait to find out what his or her name will be.

We’re ecstatic to join the Field Museum during this exciting time. They’ve spent over a century inspiring curiosity, and now they’re looking into the future to explore how they can make more of an impact in the digital realm. Soon, you can embark on their journey of discovery from wherever you are.
