Spotlight: Claire Walker
Our Spotlight this time casts an ethereal glow on our Associate Producer and southern sweetheart, Claire Walker. She might look and sound like a total sweetheart, but . . . she is one. Name: Claire WalkerHometown: Born in Toronto & raised in Durham, NCNickname(s): Clairee, Claya, Clairissa, Bear, and Claire BearSpotify Playlist: This will wake you up.
What do you do here?
Besides prancercising, I’m a Producer, meaning I manage projects from start to finish. According to my Google Account Activity, I send out an average of 1,177 emails per month and attend 107 hours of meetings to help keep things rolling.
Bring any Durham traditions to Orlando?
Always having a stash of Texas Pete handy and never wearing Carolina blue. One tradition I’d love to bring here is hanging out and watching Triple-A minor league baseball games. If Orlando landed a team, I can’t guarantee I’ll be rooting for the home team when the Durham Bulls come to town, but I’ll be there enjoying the sunshine and eating a hotdog.
What’s your favorite dessert?
Talenti Roman Raspberry Sorbetto – one serving has a 40% daily value of Vitamin C! I also throw in a few (or a lot) of mini chocolate chips.
Describe your funniest PRPL moment.
One of my all-time favorite moments was when the Monotone Animal Soundboard app went viral in the office. A few times a day you would hear the sounds of a farm animal, a frog, a bee . . . it never got old.
Why the L.A. Clippers?
I’ve recently developed a crush on Chris Paul, and once J. J. Redick got traded from the Magic, I was sold. Did my CP3 bobble head on my desk tip you off?
Do you believe there is life beyond Earth?
There are most definitely little critters out there. Isn’t Space Jam a documentary?
Britney or Xtina?
Britney Spears. She's Toxic.
Wine or beer?
Beer, specifically pale ales and really bad light beer. My favorites are Saint Terese’s by Highland Brewing Company, Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale (can only), and it’s a toss up between PBR and Keystone Light.
What animal language would you like to speak?
I think I’d like to speak Koala, so I could head over to Australia and talk to them about what it’s like being so cute and how they manage to eat 2.5 pounds of leaves during the 6 hours a day they’re awake.
If you could magically acquire one talent, what would it be?
Knowing what I want to eat at any given time and having it appear in front me, ready to be consumed. Thanks for standing under our Spotlight, Claire! We all hope you procure such a talent and become the honorary office chef.
